The Inventory & Fleet Coordinator ensures crews start each day fully equipped by leading nightly loading, inventory coordination, and fleet preparation. This role supports smooth daily operations by preventing shortages, reducing errors, and keeping vehicles and materials rollout-ready.
What you'll do
- Print loading documents, prepare pull sheets, verify accuracy, and place required paperwork in vehicles for morning rollout.
- Pull, stage, and load materials and equipment for next-day jobs; manage overflow when trucks are full and communicate adjustments to leadership in real time.
- Enter crew returns into the system, return items to correct inventory locations, report shortages, and identify restock needs.
- Be present with crews during loading to ensure accuracy and safe handling; confirm post-trip inspections are completed; report vehicle/equipment damage immediately.
- Keep the yard, warehouse, and loading zones organized and safe; prevent non-quality materials from being loaded; escalate issues quickly.
- Fuel trucks and equipment (including bobcats, sod rollers, and other machinery) and assist with staging vehicles for efficient morning rollout.
- Record received materials into work orders and verify each crew has the correct tools, machinery, and supplies listed on the crew board.
- Maintain site cleanliness and security duties (e.g., keep gravel out of street, empty trash nightly, sweep weekly, secure buildings/gates/vehicles).
- Identify low-stock items, shortages, or recurring issues and escalate early.
- Reinforce company procedures and safe work habits; lead by example during loading operations.
- Partner with crew leaders to confirm readiness, answer questions, and resolve issues before rollout.
- Identify opportunities to streamline loading processes, improve efficiency, and reduce errors.
- Perform other assigned responsibilities in support of LOVING’s mission and values.
Requirements
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, three-year MVR review, and DOT medical exam.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Clear communication and teamwork with crew leaders, managers, and teammates.
- Ability to work independently while guiding crews during loading and staging.
- Physical capability to assist with materials and equipment using safe handling practices.
- Comfort with paperwork, inventory systems, and operational processes.
- Proactive mindset to anticipate challenges and improve efficiency.
- Spanish speaking highly preferred.
Conditions
- Pay: $20–$22 USD per hour.
- Location: Charlotte area (on-site yard/warehouse operations).
- Schedule: Nightly loading and end-of-shift securing/cleaning responsibilities (implies evening/night shifts).
