Python Developer

Dataforest is seeking a Python Developer to join a cybersecurity software development project. The role involves building and maintaining scalable microservices for an Identity Insights platform that performs real-time digital forensics. You will work in a friendly, flexible environment with opportunities for professional growth.

• Develop and maintain robust and scalable microservices
• Write unit and integration tests as part of regular development
• Work with internal services via REST/gRPC APIs, ensuring reliability, security, and performance
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Monitor, profile, and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and production issues using logging, metrics, and tracing tools
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions, sharing best practices
• Maintain clear technical documentation for services, APIs, and internal tooling

• 2+ years of commercial experience with Python
• 2+ years experience with distributed, scalable microservices using FastAPI (Blacksheep is a plus)
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming patterns
• Familiar with AWS infrastructure (boto3, S3 buckets, etc)
• Proficiency in writing unit tests with pytest
• Understanding of logging, monitoring, and profiling for performance optimization and bottleneck detection
• Strong Git and version control best practices
• English Intermediate+ level
