Summary
Raindrop is a creative agency producing standout marketing for brands across DTC and household names. The Social Video Editor will lead and execute short-form vertical edits while collaborating with the Social Team to create eye-catching, platform-native content that matches brand tone and drives engagement.
What you'll do
- Lead editing across multiple short-form vertical video projects with strong creative and technical execution.
- Translate scripts and AVTs into polished edits that capture brand tone and intent.
- Maintain consistency in pacing, tone, and branded storytelling across deliverables.
- Manage DaVinci Resolve workflows, including color, audio, and cloud-based collaboration.
- Establish and uphold best practices for asset organization, timelines, and delivery.
- Support, guide, and oversee junior editors by assigning, reviewing, and advising on setup, organization, and creative decisions.
- Design and execute dynamic title treatments and text-based animations using After Effects and Resolve-based workflows.
- Apply trend-aware editing techniques for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, including optimizing for vertical and sound-off viewing.
- Stay current on platform trends, technical updates, and editing innovations to improve storytelling and final quality.
- Communicate clearly with producers and project leads to meet timelines and expectations.
Requirements
- 4–5 years of professional video editing experience.
- High proficiency in DaVinci Resolve.
- Strong ability to sync audio and video accurately.
- Sharp eye for pacing, flow, and visual aesthetics.
- Ability to interpret and apply creative direction and feedback.
- Comfortable managing a high volume of assets.
- Ability to work independently.
- Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects (title animation and motion-based text treatments).
- Strong understanding of short-form, vertical social editing conventions and trends.
- Experience editing content optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
Conditions
Employment type: Full-time.
Work arrangement: Hybrid.
Location: Access to Production Studio in San Diego, CA.
Compensation: $65,000–$70,000 per year.
