Summary
Martin Brûlé Studio (MBS) is an AD100 interior architecture and design firm with studios in New York, Paris, Miami, and Montréal. They are seeking an experienced Designer (FF&E) to support the internal design team and deliver high-end projects on time and within budget.
What you'll do
Source FF&E and produce detailed specifications including pricing, materials, finishes, and schedules (e.g., plumbing fixtures, finishes, lighting, door hardware).
Collaborate with the Director of Design, Senior Designers, and Junior Designers to take projects from inception through completion.
Present project ideas, moodboards, and design plans to the Head of Design and President.
Support project management across multiple concurrent projects; manage timelines, priorities, and tight deadlines.
Attend design meetings and installations; conduct site visits to supervise/check in as needed.
Advise and manage clients on space planning, layouts, furnishings/equipment, and color coordination; provide updates and presentations.
Review and direct Junior Designers in creating and updating client presentations.
Create and develop conceptual designs; research and source interior products and finishes/materials.
Produce drawings and documents (furniture plans, elevations, RCPs, millwork drawings, custom furniture drawings) using CAD tools.
Coordinate finish plans, specifications, and material selections; maintain organized project folders with drawings, specs, and schedules.
Use presentation and productivity tools (Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, Keynote) and project management tools (Asana, Excel).
Enter FF&E into Studio Designer to generate client proposals, invoices, and purchase orders.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of relevant interior design experience, ideally at a top interior design firm.
Experience in high-end renovations and architectural projects; capable across all phases of FF&E and design documentation.
Extensive knowledge of FF&E selection (materials, finishes, detailing, scheduling) and building/construction methods.
High-level drafting skills using AutoCAD (space planning, schedules, custom furniture details, lighting, etc.).
Proficiency with presentation tools (Adobe Suite) and office software (Microsoft Office, Keynote).
3D modeling skills (e.g., SketchUp, 3ds Max, Rhino) are a plus.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and creative; strong concept development and project management skills.
Ability to work closely with a team while confidently leading a project from start to finish.
Knowledge of New York design resources (furniture, fabrics, wallcoverings, vendors, artisans).
Portfolio required (upload portfolio instead of a cover letter).
