Summary
Commit Offshore is seeking a Senior Python/AI Engineer for a hands-on role at a fast-moving cybersecurity startup building an advanced AI SOC for cloud environments. This position focuses on data engineering, automation, and distributed systems rather than traditional backend development.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and maintain Python services that interact with cloud provider APIs and telemetry sources
- Build scalable, event-driven processing pipelines
- Develop serverless components and cloud-native integrations
- Work with large volumes of cloud logs and security data
- Optimize performance, reliability, and cost across distributed systems
- Debug complex production issues in multi-cloud environments
- Collaborate closely with research, DevOps, and product teams
Requirements
Required:
- Minimum 4+ years of hands-on Python development experience
- Proven experience developing production systems in a startup environment
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and asynchronous processing
- Experience building software that runs in production and handles real-world scale
- High ownership mindset and ability to work independently
- Strong problem-solving skills
Preferred:
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience working with cloud SDKs: AWS (boto3), Azure SDK, GCP SDK
- Familiarity with cloud security, telemetry, or infrastructure APIs
- Experience working with multi-cloud environments
