Summary
Scentbird is a digital subscription service that revolutionizes how people discover and sample fragrances, offering access to over 500+ designer perfumes each month. We are seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to develop features and improvements to our product in a secure, well-tested, and performant way while collaborating with Product Management and stakeholders in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
What you'll do
- Develop features and improvements to the Scentbird product in a secure, well-tested, and performant way
- Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders to maintain a high bar for quality in a fast-paced, iterative environment
- Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance
- Solve technical problems of moderate scope and complexity
- Craft code that meets internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment and maintain these standards through code review
- Recognize impediments to team efficiency and propose and implement solutions
- Represent Scentbird and its values in public communication around specific projects and community contributions
- Confidently ship small features and improvements with minimal guidance and collaborate with the team on larger projects
Requirements
Required:
- 7+ years of professional experience with JavaScript / TypeScript and Shopify Liquid
- Strong experience with Shopify Liquid and headless Shopify (Hydrogen / Storefront API / GraphQL)
- Experience with subscription billing platforms (Recharge, Recurly or similar) and subscription lifecycle flows
- Understanding of internationalized storefronts (localization, currency, multi-domain, tax rules)
- Experience with analytics and attribution for DTC and paid acquisition traffic (Mixpanel, GA4, Meta CAPI, TikTok Events, UTM discipline)
- Familiarity with retention/LTV metrics and subscription cohort analytics
- Experience integrating custom or embedded Shopify apps (App Bridge, Functions, Checkout Extensibility)
- Ability to debug and optimize performance in Liquid, Hydrogen SSR, and Storefront API at scale
Nice to Have:
- Experience with cloud providers (AWS or similar)
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools (Grafana, New Relic, or similar)
- Experience working with Single Page Applications (SPA)
- Experience with Playwright or other modern testing frameworks
- Experience with performance optimization in high-traffic environments
- CI/CD pipeline experience
- Test-Driven Development (TDD) experience
