Production Scheduler

Smurfit Westrock (NYSE:SW) is a global leader in sustainable paper and packaging solutions. The Production Scheduler/Production Planner role serves as the intermediary across the supply chain and is responsible for creating and managing mill production schedules. The purpose of the role is to maximize manufacturing efficiency and productivity while meeting customer requirements through coordination with logistics, customer service, and manufacturing teams.

• Make production scheduling and transportation decisions with a high degree of autonomy.
• Communicate production and logistics decisions with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment.
• Identify improvements to trim efficiency, reduce waste, and maximize machine utilization.
• Support on-time customer shipments by scheduling machines for production runs.
• Coordinate with manufacturing personnel to sequence production runs to meet customer and company objectives.
• Balance competing metrics and goals (e.g., trim efficiency, shipment time, freight loading optimization) to determine optimal scheduling and logistics solutions.
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly scheduling reports to measure performance and identify optimization opportunities.
• Manage FIFO inventory for raw materials.
• Oversee clamp truck operators to ensure process compliance.
• Manage month-end inventory reconciliation.

• Experience with scheduling tools and supply chain software.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to evaluate large amounts of data.
• Ability to make key decisions to resolve customer issues and deliver solutions.
• Effective communication skills to convey priorities across departments.
• APICS certification preferred.

• Compensation: Salary range of $75,375 to $125,625 per year (pay varies by role, level, location, and factors such as skills, experience, and education).
