Summary
ClearCaptions (promoted via Lensa) is an FCC-certified telephone captioning provider focused on improving communication for seniors and people who are hard-of-hearing. The People Business Partner is a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, supporting the execution of People strategy and strengthening talent management, engagement, and organizational alignment. This role partners with leaders and People Centers of Excellence to deliver scalable HR programs in a remote, people-first culture.
What you'll do
- Partner with people leaders to execute People strategy aligned to team and business objectives and a high-performing, values-aligned, engaged workforce.
- Provide guidance on employee relations matters (performance coaching, investigations, conflict resolution); manage ER cases end-to-end and escalate critical issues as needed.
- Conduct and coordinate objective, thorough, timely investigations; document findings and recommendations.
- Facilitate core People programs (goal setting, performance evaluations, engagement initiatives, recognition) within assigned business units.
- Coach leaders on developing employee strengths, improving team effectiveness, and fostering engagement.
- Collaborate with People Centers of Excellence (Compensation, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development) to deliver consistent HR solutions.
- Interpret and apply company policies, labor laws, and employment practices to ensure compliance and fairness.
- Track and report people metrics; support ad hoc reporting and workforce analysis.
- Participate in or lead smaller-scale HR projects/pilots; support broader change initiatives.
- Embed diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in interactions and processes.
- Manage exit interviews; analyze turnover trends and recommend improvements to retention and engagement.
- Stay current on HR best practices and employment law updates; contribute to process improvements.
- Provide training, counsel, and guidance on performance standards and quality evaluations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; BS/BA degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience as a People Business Partner/HRBP.
- Required: experience supporting remote workforces in a multi-state environment.
- Preferred: HRBP support for contact/service center populations and/or warehouse facilities.
- Experience building and leading HR programs, projects, and teams.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems (Dayforce preferred) and Microsoft Office; strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or other HR certification preferred.
- Experience across employee relations, performance management, talent development, and compensation practices.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment.
- Strong coaching skills; ability to facilitate ER conversations and resolve workplace issues.
- Ability to influence change and address strategic organizational issues using analytical and critical thinking.
- Excellent written/verbal communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Self-starter with strong organization, detail orientation, and time management; able to manage multiple priorities.
- Collaborative team-oriented working style.
- Willingness to travel occasionally overnight (up to 10%) and work flexible hours as needed.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without current or future visa sponsorship.
