Human Resources Generalist
Summary
SCA Health (part of Optum) supports a large network of ambulatory surgical centers and specialty physician practices with patient-centered, value-based care solutions. The Human Resources Generalist role provides frontline HR service delivery, managing teammate inquiries and HR cases while translating employee needs into effective solutions. This position helps ensure a high-quality teammate experience through efficient processes, documentation, and cross-functional coordination.
What you'll do
Serve as the primary point of contact for Tier 1–2 teammate HR questions, resolving issues across HR functional areas while meeting SLA and quality standards.
Manage HR cases and tickets using ServiceNow CRMS, the Human Capital Management system, and related technologies.
Support cross-functional HR projects from inception to delivery in partnership with Centers of Excellence (COEs).
Process repeatable, operational HR transactions supporting the teammate lifecycle and COE needs.
Create, maintain, and own process documentation and SOPs for internal HR service delivery processes.
Handle confidential, high-priority, and “white glove” teammate situations as needed.
Support COEs with knowledge management, process/training support, and complex ServiceNow cases across Benefits, Compensation, Payroll, Leaves, and related lanes.
Communicate and escalate complex issues to COEs and HR Business Partners; leverage internal/external resources to resolve issues and monitor trends impacting the company.
Identify and execute process improvement opportunities within HR Service Delivery.
Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and internal policies.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field.
1–3 years of Human Resources experience.
PHR or SPHR preferred; PHR-CA or SPHR-CA strongly preferred.
Working knowledge across HR functional areas.
Healthcare and/or ambulatory surgery center industry experience strongly preferred.
Strong Microsoft Office skills.
Experience with ServiceNow, UKG Pro, UKG Workforce Management, iCIMS, and Oracle (preferred).
Ability to manage a significant workload in a fast-paced environment; comfort with matrix and remote reporting relationships.
Collaborative, self-starting approach with strong organizational, planning, and communication skills.
