Architectural Designer

Remote Intern

Summary

INC Architecture and Design is seeking a full-time Architectural Designer in New York City. The role focuses on BIM modeling, design development, rendering/visualization, and producing documentation to support high-end residential or hospitality projects.

What you'll do

  • Create BIM models and project geometry in Revit (and/or SketchUp/Rhino), managing model elements and how they are presented.

  • Produce images and visualizations (2D imagery, 3D walkthroughs) to communicate project mood and design intent using tools such as Enscape and Photoshop (or similar).

  • Apply independent judgment to evaluate, select, adapt, and modify standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.

  • Interpret project design intentions and feedback through 3D models, digital visualization, and reference images.

  • Participate in internal design meetings; receive feedback and iterate on designs and imagery.

  • Coordinate with consultants, clients, and other stakeholders on design issues and project progression.

  • Develop schematic blocking and planning by analyzing program requirements, spatial demands, sunlight paths, user habits, and existing building conditions.

  • Develop presentations and tailor presentation methods to convey design intentions.

  • Research and specify products and finishes for projects.

  • Support NYC code reviews and implement code compliance requirements.

  • Produce contract and filing/construction documentation in Revit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (minimum).

  • At least 1 year of relevant experience as an Architectural Designer or in an Architecture/Interior Design internship.

  • Professional Revit experience.

  • Experience in high-end residential or hospitality projects.

  • Proficiency in rendering techniques and tools to create visually appealing designs (e.g., Enscape, Photoshop or similar).
