Sword Health

Head of Commercial Strategy, Mind

Remote Middle $5.9k–$15.6k/moest.

Summary

Sword Health is an AI-first healthcare company building the AI Care platform and expanding into AI-powered mental health with its Mind solution. The Head of Commercial Strategy, Mind will partner with the General Manager to establish Mind as the category leader by owning market positioning, competitive differentiation, commercial intelligence, and pipeline generation across health plans, employers, brokers, consultants, and partners.

What you'll do

  • Define and own the category narrative for AI-powered mental health care, positioning Mind against traditional EAPs and point solutions.
  • Build and run competitive intelligence across key competitors (e.g., Lyra, Spring Health, Modern Health, Headspace, Talkspace, legacy EAPs), including positioning, pricing, clinical models, and utilization.
  • Create differentiated positioning and messaging by buyer persona (health plans, employer benefits, brokers/consultants, channel/platform partners).
  • Develop and evangelize the “why Mind wins” narrative grounded in continuous care, AI + clinician model, outcomes-based pricing, and scalable engagement.
  • Generate qualified pipeline via relationships, partnerships, conference presence, and thought leadership; create warm entry points and accelerate deal cycles.
  • Build sales enablement assets such as competitive battlecards, objection handling, RFP frameworks, ROI models, and tailored narratives.
  • Partner with Sales on deal strategy, support active opportunities, and refine positioning using win/loss insights; join key client and finalist presentations as needed.
  • Define client transition strategy to replace traditional EAPs within existing clients and craft compelling migration narratives.
  • Identify and prioritize cross-sell opportunities across the client base and build business cases demonstrating outcomes, engagement, and ROI vs. legacy solutions.
  • Act as the voice of the market to influence product direction; translate buyer needs, objections, and competitive gaps into roadmap inputs.
  • Partner with Product and Clinical teams on care model alignment, evidence strategy, packaging, and case studies that support commercial wins.
  • Define and drive channel and ecosystem strategy across health plans, consultants, brokers, and platform partners; develop scalable partnership models.
  • Represent Mind at industry conferences and events; build relationships with consultants, analysts, influencers, and relevant organizations to strengthen credibility and reach.

Requirements

  • 10–15 years of experience in healthcare strategy, commercial strategy, product marketing, or business development within digital health, health plans, benefits consulting, or healthcare technology.
  • Deep, established relationships across health plans, broker/consultant networks, and employer benefits ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to position a product as a category leader in a competitive healthcare market.
  • Strong understanding of the mental health landscape, including EAPs, point solutions, and enterprise buying dynamics.
  • Experience influencing enterprise deals without directly owning quota.
  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills for executive audiences and large industry stages.
  • Ability to simplify and communicate complex models (AI + clinician care, outcomes-based pricing) into clear commercial narratives.
  • Cross-functional leadership and comfort working with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Clinical teams.
  • Self-starter mindset with ability to build programs from zero and operate in ambiguity.
  • Must have legal right to work in the United States; no immigration/work visa sponsorship provided.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in mental health, EAPs, behavioral health, or digital therapeutics.
  • Thought leadership background in healthcare/digital health; experience at high-growth health tech companies.
