San Francisco-based cybersecurity startup seeking a Backend Engineer to build low-latency, real-time microservices for an AI-powered data leak prevention platform. The role focuses on developing data exfiltration prevention solutions on endpoints with deep OS-level expertise.
What you'll do
- Design and develop data exfiltration prevention apps, drivers, system extensions and services on MacOS or Windows
- Maintain and evolve mission-critical agents on endpoints
- Own complex features from design to delivery and troubleshoot customer issues
- Design and build secure software with cross-platform deliverables for Windows and MacOS
- Write and maintain documentation for internal and public services
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of related work experience
- Expertise in Objective-C, Swift on MacOS or C/C++ on Windows
- Practical development experience with Endpoint Security System Extension on MacOS or WDF, filter drivers on Windows
- Knowledge of IOKit and MacOS VFS model (MacOS) or user mode apps familiarity (Windows)
- Readiness to learn other systems languages such as Rust, Go, Python
- Experience with kernel-level debugging processes and tools
- Ability to use reverse engineering techniques and debug kernel space code
- Ability to decompose complex business problems and own them end to end across teams
- Upper-Intermediate English proficiency
