Director, Talent Programs - COO Organization

Summary

The Director, Talent Programs will lead critical talent programs for LinkedIn’s COO organization and manage the Functional Talent Development team to strengthen leadership, performance, and development practices. This role sits at the intersection of talent strategy, performance enablement, leadership development, and large-scale change management.

What you'll do

  • Drive the design and activation of the Unlocking Growth talent strategy for the COO organization, defining leadership, performance, and development expectations.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the COO Functional Talent Development team; align roles, priorities, and workflows for near-term execution and long-term strategy delivery.
  • Partner with the COO leadership team, HRBPs, and cross-functional stakeholders to identify priority talent needs and deliver aligned solutions.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor on leadership expectations, performance practices, and talent programs using data and insights to influence decisions.
  • Build and implement a new performance management framework for the COO organization and embed it into leadership routines and talent practices.
  • Activate and embed leadership expectations across performance, development, succession, and daily leader behaviors.
  • Lead change management strategy and cross-functional workstreams to drive adoption of new talent practices; ensure clarity of roles, messaging, tools, and implementation.
  • Monitor adoption, trends, feedback, and success measures to ensure intended impact; transition ongoing business-as-usual ownership to HRBP partners as initiatives mature.
  • Oversee end-to-end execution of talent development initiatives, including planning, resourcing, governance, and delivery across global and regional partners.
  • Facilitate learning and leadership effectiveness sessions and provide HRBP “train the facilitator” sessions, modeling excellence in facilitation and learning design at scale.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Organizational Development, Talent Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 12+ years in Talent Development, Talent Management, Organizational Development, or HR Consulting.
  • Program Management: 5+ years of end-to-end program ownership with continuous improvement.
  • People Leadership: 5+ years leading people and teams.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in HR/OD/Talent Management or related field.
  • Preferred: Proven ability to lead functional Talent Development teams and partner with senior HRBPs and business leaders.
  • Preferred: Track record of driving performance management and/or talent strategy transformations.
  • Preferred: Exceptional communication and influence skills across levels; ability to translate insights into action.
  • Preferred: Design thinking and human-centered design capability.
  • Preferred: Strong project and change management experience across complex, global teams.
  • Preferred: Certified coach or equivalent leadership development experience.

Conditions

  • Work model: Hybrid (work from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days based on business needs).
  • Compensation: Pay range $172,000–$280,000 annually (total compensation may include bonus, stock, and benefits).
