Scrum Master I (Remote)
Summary
American Specialty Health, Inc. is hiring a Scrum Master I to support an Information Technology – Software development team and Product Owner. The role facilitates Agile/Scrum practices to help the team deliver quality products efficiently while driving continuous improvement.
What you'll do
Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement (grooming).
Guide the team in reflection and continuous improvement to maximize efficiency and delivery quality.
Align the team with organizational processes for developing, releasing, and maintaining products.
Support the Product Owner and Development Team using servant leadership practices.
Remove impediments or coordinate with appropriate stakeholders to eliminate blockers.
Facilitate discussions, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
Improve internal/external communication, transparency, and information radiators.
Help the team identify and use appropriate performance metrics for Agile/Scrum reporting.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Business, or equivalent experience (high school diploma required if using equivalent experience).
1–2 years of experience as a Scrum Master for a software development team applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
Knowledge of Scrum management and sprint/release planning.
Knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and transparency.
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum reporting paradigms and performance metrics.
Ability to identify key stakeholders and collaborate to remove blockers.
Knowledge of other agile methodologies (e.g., Lean, Kanban, XP, TDD, CI, test automation) and applying them in product delivery environments.
Core competencies: strong interpersonal and customer service skills, listening and communication, organization/time management, productivity in changing environments, analytical problem-solving, and strict confidentiality.
Conditions
Remote / work-from-home (WFH) position with remote training.
Must have a designated home work area and be able to use company-provided technology equipment.
Requires reliable internet capable of video meetings (minimum 50 Mbps download / 10 Mbps upload; 100/20 recommended).
Primarily sedentary; ability to sit for long periods; ability to communicate verbally and in writing; lift up to 10 lbs.
Full-time position.
