Creative Writers
Summary
Handshake is seeking experienced Creative Writers and writing professionals to support AI research through flexible, hourly contract work. In this role, you will evaluate AI-generated writing and provide feedback to improve the AI’s understanding of narrative structure, voice, tone, and professional language.
What you'll do
Design job-related prompts based on real-world creative writing and editorial work.
Review AI-generated responses for quality, creativity, clarity, voice, and relevance.
Provide detailed feedback to help improve AI performance in creative writing techniques and professional language.
Follow written guidelines while working independently and asynchronously.
Requirements
Experience as a Creative Writer or in closely related writing or editorial roles.
Hands-on experience developing original written content, editing drafts, and refining voice and tone.
Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and follow written guidelines.
Professional judgment, reliability, and discretion/confidentiality with sensitive or proprietary information.
No prior AI or technical experience required.
Conditions
Status: Independent contractor (not a full-time employee role).
Location: Fully remote; work from anywhere with a reliable internet connection and access to a desktop or laptop.
Schedule: Flexible and asynchronous; no minimum hours. Many contributors work approximately 5–20 hours per week when assigned to an active project.
Duration: Year-round program with projects opening periodically; placement depends on project needs with potential consideration for future projects.
Work authorization note: F-1 students eligible for CPT/OPT may be eligible; STEM OPT is not supported and eligibility depends on school requirements.
