ClearCaptions is an FCC-certified telephone captioning provider focused on improving communication for seniors and people who are hard-of-hearing through near real-time captioning technology. The People Business Partner (PBP) serves as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, executing people strategy and strengthening leadership capability to support a high-performing, engaged workforce in a people-first culture.
What you'll do
- Partner with people leaders to execute people strategy aligned with business unit objectives and company values.
- Provide employee relations support including performance coaching, investigations, conflict resolution, and end-to-end case management; escalate critical issues as needed.
- Investigate and resolve complex or critical ER matters; document findings and recommendations in an objective and timely manner.
- Facilitate core people programs such as goal setting, performance evaluations, engagement initiatives, and employee recognition.
- Coach leaders on team effectiveness, employee development, and engagement.
- Collaborate with People Centers of Excellence (Compensation, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development) to deliver consistent HR solutions.
- Interpret and apply company policies, labor laws, and employment practices to ensure compliance and fairness.
- Track, analyze, and report people metrics; support ad hoc reporting and workforce analysis.
- Participate in or lead smaller-scale HR projects/pilots and support broader change initiatives.
- Promote DEI&B principles across interactions and processes.
- Manage exit interview processes; analyze trends and recommend retention and engagement improvements.
- Provide guidance, training, and counsel on performance standards and quality evaluations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support People team and business priorities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; BS/BA degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- 5–7 years of experience in a People Business Partner/HRBP role.
- Required: experience supporting remote workforces in a multi-state environment.
- Preferred: HRBP support for contact/service center populations and/or warehouse facilities.
- Experience building and leading HR programs, projects, and teams.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems (Dayforce preferred) and Microsoft Office; strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or other HR certification preferred.
- Experience across employee relations, performance management, talent development, and compensation practices.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment.
- Demonstrated manager coaching and facilitation skills; ability to resolve day-to-day workplace issues.
- Strong strategic, critical thinking, and analytical skills; ability to identify trends and recommend solutions.
- Excellent written/verbal communication, presentation, and facilitation skills; ability to build credibility with leaders and employees.
- Strong organization, time management, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Collaborative, team-oriented working style.
Conditions

- Travel: occasional overnight travel up to 10%.
