Summary
Warner Music Group is a global music company and home to multiple recording labels and Warner Chappell Music. This Assistant role supports the Co-President of 300 Entertainment and Hip Hop, R&B and Global Music at Atlantic Records in New York, helping execute A&R and administrative work. The purpose is to enable day-to-day operations while learning and contributing to the full A&R process from scouting through record-making.
What you'll do
- Manage calendars and schedule meetings, showcases, and internal staff/breakout sessions.
- Coordinate studio sessions for artists with producers and songwriters; book studios and cover sessions as needed.
- Arrange travel and itineraries for A&Rs, artist clients, and executives.
- Provide administrative support including phones, scheduling, expense reports, and artist meetings.
- Act as a liaison between the label, artists, management teams, and internal departments (marketing, publicity, sales, product management, finance, legal).
- Scout, research, and help evaluate new artists, songwriters, and producers; review demo submissions and cover shows.
- Contribute creative ideas and participate in brainstorming on potential and current label artists.
- Assist with coordination of song creation and record production with songwriters, publishers, mixing/mastering engineers, studio managers, and artists.
- Maintain and develop relationships directly with artists.
- Assist with department and label event planning.
- Work with the A&R research team to compile weekly reports.
- Attend weekly A&R meetings and departmental song sessions; stay current on the 300 roster.
Requirements
- Assistant or administrative experience.
- Strong communication skills; self-motivated, proactive, passionate, and eager to learn the A&R process.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Strong ear for music and hunger for new music discovery; broad knowledge across genres.
- Ability to maintain relationships and evaluate talent.
Preferred:
- Previous music industry experience.
- Experience with industry tools (e.g., Sodatone, Mediabase).
- Proficiency with Microsoft and Google suites.
Conditions
- Location: in-office minimum 4 days per week.
- Salary range listed: $19.23 to $23.84 hourly (actual pay depends on experience and business needs).
