Director of Logistics

Summary

Seek is building a talent network and is seeking a strategic Logistics Director to lead end-to-end logistics, distribution, and supply chain execution across domestic and international operations. The role focuses on optimizing movement of goods, inventory accuracy, cost control, and service-level performance while partnering cross-functionally to align logistics strategy with business objectives.

What you'll do

  • Develop and execute logistics and distribution strategy to meet service, cost, and scalability goals.

  • Oversee transportation, warehousing, inventory control, and order fulfillment across multiple regions.

  • Manage carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and 3PLs to optimize performance and costs.

  • Define and track KPIs and SLAs (e.g., on-time delivery, freight spend, inventory accuracy, fulfillment efficiency).

  • Drive continuous improvement to reduce transportation costs, optimize routing, and improve warehouse productivity.

  • Align demand planning with Supply Chain and Operations to ensure inventory availability and reduce stockouts/excess.

  • Implement and optimize logistics systems and integrations (TMS, WMS, ERP).

  • Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, trade laws, customs requirements, and safety standards.

  • Build contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions and risks.

  • Prepare and manage the logistics budget, including forecasting freight spend and cost controls.

  • Lead, mentor, and scale a multi-site logistics and distribution team and manage external partners.

  • Provide executive-level reporting on performance, risks, and improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in logistics management, transportation planning, and distribution operations.

  • Strong knowledge of supply chain optimization, inventory management, and cost control methodologies.

  • Experience negotiating carrier contracts and managing freight procurement strategies.

  • Advanced knowledge of TMS, WMS, ERP systems, and logistics analytics tools.

  • Proven leadership managing large, distributed teams and third-party providers.

  • Strong analytical, data-driven decision-making and performance optimization skills.

  • Knowledge of international shipping, customs compliance, and trade regulations.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Preferred: 8–12+ years in progressive logistics/supply chain/operations leadership roles.

  • Preferred industry experience: manufacturing, retail, e-commerce, consumer goods, or industrial distribution.

  • Preferred: demonstrated success scaling logistics infrastructure during rapid growth.

  • Preferred certifications: CSCP, CLTD, Six Sigma, or PMP.

  • Preferred education: Bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Preferred: experience leading digital transformation initiatives within logistics operations.

Conditions
