MANAGER OF TEEN AND INTERGENERATIONAL PROGRAMS

The Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) seeks a Manager of Teen and Intergenerational Programs within the Education department. This public-facing role develops, plans, coordinates, and produces inclusive intergenerational and teen programs while overseeing MAD’s Project Space and leading the Artslife teen summer intensive. The position supports MAD’s mission by expanding access, engagement, and outreach across diverse audiences.

• Plan, develop, and implement intergenerational programming.
• Manage and maintain MAD’s Project Space and associated daily activities.
• Interact with the public on MAD’s 6th floor and support visitor engagement.
• Partner with the Manager of Public Programs on ongoing initiatives (e.g., annual family Halloween party, Open House).
• Plan, develop, and implement teen programs including Artslife (NYC high school summer intensive) and school break Recess programs.
• Manage MAD’s Access programs in collaboration with the Manager of Public Programs.
• Liaise and coordinate with internal departments (e.g., Curatorial, Exhibitions, Marketing and Communications, Visitor Engagement, Facilities) to execute programs.
• Support audience engagement, recruitment, mentorship, and curriculum development aligned with MAD’s mission.
• Manage program budgets; track and report on programming efforts and attendance monthly and as needed.
• Collaborate with Institutional Advancement to support funding opportunities.
• Create and sustain a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible environment for visitors of all ages and abilities.

• Bachelor’s degree expected; graduate work in art history, arts management, museum education, or related field is a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of experience developing and implementing museum programming for diverse audiences.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, public-facing, creative environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence; ability to build and maintain relationships.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management; ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of the contemporary art, craft, and design landscape.
• Additional language skills and/or ability to support bilingual education programs is a plus.
• Understanding of gallery inquiry methods and hands-on teaching strategies.

• Full-time, permanent, exempt position.
• Schedule generally Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30am–5:30pm, with an unpaid 1-hour lunch; minimum 35 hours/week.
• On-site presence required; occasional evenings and holidays based on event schedule.
