Freelance Graphic Designer [Contract Role]
Summary
Life Alive Organic Cafe is seeking a Freelance Graphic Designer (contract) to bring the brand to life across a wide range of marketing and café materials. The role supports the marketing team by developing and executing creative concepts that drive guest engagement and keep the visual identity modern and aspirational.
What you'll do
Design on-brand marketing materials using the style guide and help evolve the visual identity.
Create assets for café and event signage, email campaigns, loyalty program materials, menus, promotional offers, flyers, direct mail, website updates, digital resizing, and branded merchandise.
Move quickly from concept to execution in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.
Develop guest-focused campaigns that resonate and drive engagement.
Collaborate closely with the VP of Marketing and cross-functional marketing partners; present concepts clearly and persuasively.
Build presentation decks and write clean, compelling copy when needed.
Prepare print production files and manage multiple projects, timelines, and priorities.
Requirements
1–2 years of professional design experience (agency, in-house, or freelance).
Bachelor’s degree in Design, Advertising, or equivalent education/experience.
Strong design skills across print, digital, branding, and merchandise.
Proficiency with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Working knowledge of Google Workspace, Mailchimp, and Storyblok.
Photo retouching plus illustration/iconography skills.
Ability to integrate copywriting with visuals; comfort writing compelling copy.
Strategic problem-solving skills and comfort presenting to senior leadership.
Experience managing timelines, priorities, and multiple concurrent projects.
Print production file preparation experience.
Conditions
Contract freelance role with variable hours averaging 12–20 hours per week.
Hourly pay, negotiable based on experience.
Flexible schedule to accommodate varying workloads and occasional short-notice requests.
Works with the Marketing department and reports primarily to the VP of Marketing.
