HR Generalist

Summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. (CEI) is a long-standing electrical contractor delivering complex commercial, data center, and energy projects across the United States. The HR Generalist supports execution of people programs and HR initiatives aligned to business objectives across assigned areas. The role partners closely with HR Business Partners, People Relations, Shared Services, and Centers of Excellence to deliver consistent HR support and employee lifecycle operations.

What you'll do

  • Serve as a point of contact for leaders and employees on HR processes, tools, and people-related questions.
  • Maintain an HR presence with supported teams, including site visits as needed, to build relationships and support HR program execution.
  • Partner with the HR Business Partner team to support workforce activities, people initiatives, and change efforts through coordination and follow-through.
  • Support leaders in core HR programs such as performance management cycles, engagement initiatives, and workforce planning.
  • Own and coordinate employee lifecycle processes (onboarding, offboarding, transfers, promotions, and personnel action requests) ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Partner with HR Shared Services to ensure employee data integrity and smooth execution of employee changes and transactions.
  • Support training initiatives by communicating opportunities, assisting with scheduling/logistics, and helping administer compliance reminders.
  • Reinforce consistent application of HR policies and procedures, providing guidance and escalating issues appropriately.
  • Track, compile, and report people-related data (e.g., employee movements and turnover trends) and flag insights for improvement.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience: 2–4 years of experience in HR or a people-focused role; experience supporting HR programs, employee lifecycle processes, or leaders preferred.

  • Knowledge: Understanding of HR processes, employee lifecycle management, and people programs.

  • Skills: Clear professional communication; collaboration and partnership across HR Centers of Excellence and operational groups; attention to detail and accuracy with employee data and PARs; sound judgment and ability to follow escalation paths; adaptability in a dynamic environment.

  • Licensure/Certifications: None required.

Conditions

  • Location: Iowa or Indiana (site visits as needed).

  • Salary range: $62,250 to $100,000 annually (starting pay varies by market location, skills, education, and experience).
