Senior Director of Admissions

Summary

Unitek College, part of Unitek Learning, is a rapidly growing healthcare education organization supporting students in launching and accelerating their careers. The Senior Director of Admissions leads the campus admissions function to achieve enrollment goals, maintain compliance, and ensure an excellent student experience. This role oversees staffing, performance standards, lead flow, and cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Financial Aid, and campus leadership.

What you'll do

  • Recruit, train, manage, supervise, and motivate Admissions and support staff.

  • Evaluate admissions phone calls biweekly and interviews monthly; conduct quarterly professional standards evaluations; complete annual and semi-annual performance reviews.

  • Observe interviews and review calls to provide feedback and coaching to improve performance.

  • Review inbound recorded calls within 72 hours to ensure accurate lead entry and proper call handling.

  • Create and manage staffing schedules/shifts to ensure full coverage for inbound leads during operating hours.

  • Monitor and respond to public reviews and mystery shop results.

  • Track, monitor, and report progress toward start/enrollment goals; submit reports, forecasts, and required documents accurately and on time.

  • Develop Admissions Representatives identified as potential leaders for future admissions director roles.

  • Partner with campus management to ensure resources and daily/weekly performance management aligned to standards.

  • Collaborate with Financial Aid to hold STITCH/GAP meetings to support customer service and interview-to-start performance.

  • Work with campus Executives and Regional Directors to assess and improve admissions policies and procedures.

  • Plan and conduct campus events such as open houses and orientations.

  • Run daily standups and weekly team meetings to improve cohesion and reinforce goals, policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Correspond with prospective students and applicants regarding admissions standards and provide guidance throughout the admissions process.

  • Provide input related to budgets, training meetings, and campus facilities.

  • Enforce business professional dress code for Admissions staff Monday through Friday.

  • Complete additional projects and duties as assigned; comply with all policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • 3–5 years of experience as a Director of Admissions (DOA) managing multiple admissions staff members; similar program mix and student volume required.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with enrollment management practices.

  • Strong organizational, leadership, development, and implementation skills.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative environment.

  • High integrity, reliability, and professional presence in a student-facing leadership role.

  • Solid business acumen with numerical and analytical ability.

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with individuals of diverse socioeconomic and multicultural backgrounds; strong ethics and respect.

  • Familiarity with CRM systems (including CampusVue) and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
