Director, Strategic Procurement Projects

Summary

Sempra Infrastructure is hiring a Director, Strategic Procurement Projects to lead multi-disciplinary supply management teams supporting capital project execution and development portfolios. The role ensures end-to-end supply chain alignment across the project lifecycle (FEL through RFO) in partnership with cross-functional and executive stakeholders.

What you'll do

  • Lead supply chain transformation initiatives including systems, process standardization, continuous improvement, and capability maturity.
  • Implement robust contract strategies for project development (permitting), execution (equipment/materials), and Ready for Operations (RFO).
  • Serve as a senior reviewer across phases and gates of the Capital Value Process to support EPC project success.
  • Communicate sourcing strategies and results to senior leadership and governance bodies to align with enterprise priorities.
  • Develop and implement advanced reporting tools for insights into purchasing, compliance, and supplier effectiveness.
  • Direct the organization’s contract management approach to secure favorable terms and consistent service delivery.
  • Drive strategic materials and inventory planning using forecasting and optimization to support growth and resilience.
  • Establish long-term supplier engagement strategies aligned to organizational goals and performance improvement.
  • Optimize freight cost efficiency and delivery liability across multimodal transportation systems.
  • Shape logistics strategy by aligning storage, distribution, and transportation to support operational excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Education: 4-year degree required; advanced degree (e.g., MBA or equivalent) and advanced professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) preferred.
  • Experience: Typically 12 years of related experience; 15+ years supporting development and execution of complex capital projects (e.g., EPC) including LNG, renewables, pipelines, infrastructure, and other capital-intensive projects.
  • Skills/Knowledge: Claims management; complex contract negotiation and negotiation strategy; project assurance and quality lifecycle understanding (FEL gates); executive influencing; contract management (including compliance and use of software/automation); data analysis and statistical methods; demand forecasting; inventory management; logistics management; purchasing/procurement strategy; regulatory compliance; supply chain management; supply chain risk management; vendor management.
  • Certifications: CPSM preferred; CSCP preferred.

Conditions

  • Employment type: Full-time.
  • Travel: Approximately 25% travel to Port Arthur LNG site and Ensenada, MX.
