Summary
Cisco Meraki builds cloud-managed web applications that manage millions of network devices via the Meraki Dashboard. The Full Stack Software Engineer on the MX Dashboard team will architect, design, and build large-scale SD-WAN and Security features that connect over a million devices to customers. The role focuses on delivering scalable, high-quality user experiences with strong performance and uptime.
What you'll do
- Solve scaling challenges to support a growing user base while maintaining high uptime and user experience.
- Identify and remediate performance bottlenecks in the web application.
- Collaborate with firmware engineers, SRE, UX designers, and product managers to design, iterate, and implement new Security and SD-WAN features in the Meraki Dashboard.
- Write and maintain production code; participate in and support the team through code reviews.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues using advanced development skills.
- Develop intuitive UI components that use APIs to help users monitor and configure complex network topologies.
- Take accountability for product stability with a strong customer focus.
- Act as a unifying force by connecting people and motivating teammates.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience writing professional production code and tests.
- 2+ years of experience with web backend technologies (e.g., Ruby on Rails, Node.js).
- 2+ years of experience building rich web UIs with React (and Redux) or similar frameworks.
- Experience building large-scale web applications and distributed services (from scratch or evolving existing systems).
- Ability to implement efficient relational database design and optimize query performance (Postgres/SQL).
- Experience prototyping, shipping, and iterating on sophisticated features and user experiences.
- Strategic, product-oriented mindset with desire to understand users.
- Passion for the work and ability to inspire and motivate others.
Bonus: large-scale systems analysis/scaling, web development plus devops/infrastructure exposure, security or networking interest/experience, real-time dashboard experience.
Conditions
Compensation (U.S./Canada): starting base salary range stated as $152,500 to $219,200 annually (varies by location; incentive/equity/benefits not included).
