People Operations Specialist

Summary

Synthesia is an AI video platform for businesses, headquartered in London with teams across Europe and the US. The People Operations Specialist will help expand and run the US People Ops function, owning core lifecycle operations while improving systems, workflows, and data foundations to support global scaling.

What you'll do

  • Own key US employee lifecycle processes end-to-end, including onboarding, internal mobility, relocations, parental leave, and promotions.

  • Partner with the US People Ops Specialist to deliver a high-quality onboarding experience.

  • Own Rippling (US HRIS) as the primary system administrator.

  • Improve People systems, workflows, and integrations to scale with company growth.

  • Support US benefits administration and liaise with brokers to resolve employee queries.

  • Manage employment contracts and People documentation accurately and confidentially.

  • Serve as a key point of contact for US employee queries, unblocking and simplifying processes.

  • Ensure payroll-impacting changes are accurate, timely, and clearly communicated.

  • Maintain compliance and audit readiness by reviewing policies and labor requirements.

  • Maintain clean, structured, and reportable People data and build reporting where needed.

  • Identify and implement automation or AI improvements to reduce manual work.

  • Own People roadmap projects focused on operational efficiency and scalability.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in People Operations, HR Systems, or a similar operational HR role (preferably in tech startup/scale-up environments).

  • Strong HRIS experience (Rippling preferred).

  • Experience across onboarding, payroll coordination, benefits administration, and compliance.

  • Proven ability to improve workflows, implement automation, or optimize systems.

  • Comfortable working with People data and building reports.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

  • Proactive, solutions-oriented, and able to operate independently.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

  • Bonus: experience implementing systems, building integrations, or embedding AI into operational workflows.

Conditions

  • Compensation: $90,000–$105,000 per year base salary plus equity (final package based on experience, qualifications, and location).

  • Reports to the People Ops Lead and collaborates with a People Ops team across the US and UK/EMEA.

  • Focus on supporting and scaling US People Operations within a global People function.
