Director, Workplace Experience
Summary
Metropolis Technologies is building AI that powers the Recognition Economy across parking, retail, and hospitality. The Director of Workplace Experience will own corporate real estate, facilities, and office operations to deliver a consistent, high-quality employee experience while optimizing cost and scalability across multiple U.S. offices.
What you'll do
- Oversee facility services for corporate and regional offices (primarily Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Nashville, Seattle, and Orlando).
- Support integration of existing offices in shared markets (Los Angeles, New York, Nashville).
- Drive operational excellence with vendors, onsite support, and internal partners such as IT and Security.
- Lead employee experience initiatives aligned with company values (events, office perks such as meals/snacks, engagement programs).
- Track and analyze office utilization; provide data-driven recommendations for growth planning.
- Own end-to-end office expansion efforts including real estate searches, office buildouts, budgeting, and construction management; partner closely with Legal and Finance.
- Implement and update office-related policies.
- Manage and report the Workplace Experience budget.
- Manage onsite staffing as needed; recommend resourcing to drive efficiency and operational excellence.
- Identify and close gaps in office management services to ensure consistency across major offices.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in workplace experience, facilities management, real estate, or a related field.
- Experience in a high-growth technology company with a distributed workforce (including hourly field workers) and scaling facilities/services to business needs.
- Project management capability, particularly related to office construction.
- Strong attention to detail in contract management and negotiation.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office; strong Excel skills required.
- Experience with project management tools such as Asana, ProCore, and Smartsheets.
- Demonstrated record of on-time/on-budget project delivery, workplace experience strategy, and strong budget management.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and own high-visibility initiatives.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and professional executive-level communication.
- Adaptable and proactive in learning as priorities evolve; stays current on internal trends and industry best practices.
- (Plus) Existing network of preferred vendors/partners.
Conditions
Work model: Office-first; on-site at least four days per week.
Compensation: Base salary range $175,000–$185,000 USD annually (varies by qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location).
