Visual Designer – Iconography Specialist

Mercor connects elite creative and technical talent with leading AI research labs and is headquartered in San Francisco. The Visual Designer (Iconography Specialist) will create and maintain high-quality iconography and visual assets to support product and brand needs. This contract role focuses on scalable icon systems, standards, and collaboration with design leads.

• Collaborate with designers to deliver high-quality iconography and visual assets.
• Create and maintain icon libraries across multiple sizes and themes.
• Design pixel-perfect, grid-aligned icons that reflect brand identity and system guidelines.
• Extend and document icon standards and usage rules with design leads.
• Translate product needs into visually compelling and engaging designs.
• Manage and incorporate feedback to elevate overall design quality.

• 4+ years of professional experience in graphic/visual design across web, desktop, and mobile.
• Proven experience designing and implementing icon systems at scale.
• Expert-level proficiency with Figma, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.
• Strong understanding of vector construction, grid systems, and accessibility considerations.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Preferred:

  • Experience contributing to a design system.
  • Understanding of design-to-development handoff practices and QA.
  • Familiarity with 3D design and motion/animation.

• Type: Contract.
• Compensation: $75–$90 per hour.
