HR Coordinator
Summary
Ensemble Performing Arts is a mission-driven organization operating a network of performing arts schools and related businesses focused on arts education and community enrichment. The HR Coordinator role supports daily HR operations in a remote capacity, ensuring smooth employee support, benefits administration, leave management, and compliance. This position partners closely with the HR Manager and offers broad exposure across core HR functions.
What you'll do
Monitor and respond to the HR inbox, providing first-level support for employee inquiries about benefits, policies, and general HR topics.
Manage benefit enrollments in Paylocity for new hires, terminations, and life event changes, ensuring accuracy.
Coordinate transfers, enrollments, and terminations with benefit vendors (e.g., Cigna, American Worker).
Serve as the primary contact for insurance-related questions and guide employees through coverage options.
Administer parental leave and FMLA requests end-to-end, including tracking and employee communication.
Manage workers’ compensation claims and coordinate with employees and vendors throughout the process.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in compliance with applicable regulations.
Support onboarding for new hires, including benefits orientation and system setup.
Process employment verifications and related documentation.
Assist with HRIS data entry, maintenance, and workflow automation within Paylocity.
Help develop and document HR processes and standard operating procedures.
Provide general support to the HR Manager on projects, reporting, and special initiatives.
Requirements
2–4 years of experience in an HR or people operations role.
Hands-on experience with an HRIS platform (Paylocity preferred).
Working knowledge of benefits administration, leave management (FMLA/parental leave), and workers’ compensation.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive employee information.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus (not required).
