Manager, Logistics & Operations
Summary
Starface is hiring a Manager, Logistics & Operations to execute the Operations strategy and optimize systems supporting department activity. Reporting to the Director of Operations & Logistics, this role owns outbound product movement from 3PL warehouses/DCs to customers across ecommerce, marketplace, and B2B channels while ensuring integrations, SLAs, and cost targets are met.
What you'll do
- Serve as the primary point of contact and relationship manager for distribution center (DC) partners with a focus on outbound logistics (shipping to retailers).
- Ensure on-time order fulfillment across trade partners and sales channels, delivering best-in-class service levels.
- Partner with Finance to ensure procedural compliance for inventory, warehouse operations, and fulfillment & transportation costs.
- Travel to distribution centers to support physical inventory counts (2x per year) and ensure counts follow procedure.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, vendor guidelines, routing guides, and training/reference documentation.
- Support the development of operations and logistics best practices, tools, and processes across outbound flows to improve efficiency and performance.
- Analyze and model scenarios to optimize operations; develop/measure KPIs and goals, including chargeback analysis and claims management for retail partners.
- Drive continuous improvements to 3PL fulfillment processes to reduce costs, improve turnaround time, and ensure on-time/in-full delivery.
- Support and/or lead cross-functional department projects as needed.
- Participate in User Acceptance Training (UAT) for system updates or add-ons.
- Develop understanding of inbound logistics and provide backup/secondary support as needed.
- Manage retailer chargebacks and disputes by reviewing claims, identifying root causes, validating with transaction/shipping data, coordinating resolutions, and implementing process improvements with documentation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, and/or operations within the CPG space across DTC/ecommerce and brick-and-mortar retail.
- Strong 3PL warehouse/distribution center experience and B2B order management experience.
- Thorough understanding of supply chain operations: production planning, purchasing, inventory control, freight logistics, 3PL warehouse operations, shipping/receiving.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP systems; NetSuite experience preferred.
- System error troubleshooting capability and advanced Excel skills.
- Data-driven and quantitatively strong; able to evaluate financial/business indicators and translate data into actionable decisions.
- Ability to work independently, own a workstream end-to-end, and solve critical problems quickly.
- Proven success in a fast-paced, changing, collaborative start-up environment and ability to balance long-term goals with short-term needs.
- Ability to travel up to 20% for inventory counts, team offsites, and special projects.
Conditions
Compensation: $90,000–$110,000 base (depending on experience/level) plus bonus eligibility.
Work arrangement: Fully remote; home office & internet supplement stipend.
