Creative Writers

Handshake is seeking experienced Creative Writers and writing professionals to support AI research through flexible, hourly contract work. The role focuses on evaluating AI-generated writing and providing feedback to improve narrative structure, voice, tone, clarity, and professional language.

• Design job-related prompts based on professional writing experience
• Review AI-generated responses for quality, creativity, clarity, voice, and relevance
• Provide detailed feedback to help improve AI understanding of creative writing techniques and narrative structure
• Follow written guidelines while working independently and asynchronously

• Experience as a Creative Writer or in closely related writing/editorial roles
• Hands-on experience creating original written content, editing drafts, and refining voice and tone
• Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and follow written guidelines
• Professional judgment, reliability, discretion, and confidentiality with sensitive/proprietary information

• No prior AI or technical experience required

• Status: Independent contractor (not a full-time employee role)
• Location: Fully remote; work from anywhere with reliable internet and access to a desktop or laptop
• Schedule: Flexible and asynchronous with no minimum hour requirement
• Typical workload: Many contributors work approximately 5–20 hours per week when assigned to an active project
• Duration: Ongoing, project-based; program runs year-round with projects opening periodically based on needs
• Work authorization note: F-1 students with CPT/OPT may be eligible depending on school rules; STEM OPT not supported
