Head of Finance 20 3 E-Commerce & Operations

Afina is seeking a strategic Head of Finance to lead financial operations and scale the company. This role bridges finance, operations, and strategy, encompassing financial planning, cash flow management, inventory operations, and cost optimization for a high-growth DTC e-commerce brand.

Financial Leadership & Accounting:

• Manage day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and month-end/year-end close processes
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with variance analysis
• Establish internal financial controls, policies, and procedures
• Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors
• Lead budgeting and reforecasting cycles
• Oversee payroll, tax filings, and regulatory compliance

Cash Flow & Financial Planning:

• Build and maintain detailed cash flow forecasts and working capital models
• Develop financial models and scenario analyses for strategic initiatives
• Lead FP&A efforts with data-driven insights
• Track DTC and e-commerce KPIs (CAC, LTV, ROAS, contribution margin, payback period)

Inventory & Operations Planning:

• Collaborate on demand planning and inventory forecasting models
• Monitor inventory levels, turnover rates, and landed costs
• Analyze and optimize supply chain financials
• Support vendor negotiations and procurement decisions

Cost Optimization & Efficiency:

• Identify cost savings opportunities across COGS, shipping, packaging, and overhead
• Conduct profitability analysis by product, channel, and market
• Evaluate unit economics and contribution margins
• Implement financial systems and automation tools

Required:

• 5+ years of progressive finance experience, with 3+ years in senior finance at DTC, e-commerce, or high-growth consumer brand
• Deep understanding of e-commerce business models and DTC metrics
• Strong operational mindset with inventory planning and vendor negotiation experience
• Proven experience building financial models, forecasts, and budgets
• Expertise in cash flow management and working capital optimization
• Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite)
• Strong understanding of GAAP, tax compliance, and financial controls
• Excellent communication skills translating financial data into actionable insights
• Self-motivated leader thriving with autonomy

• Experience in beauty, wellness, health, or home goods
• Subscription or replenishment revenue model experience
• Background in supply chain finance or operations planning
• BI and data visualization tools experience (Looker, Tableau)
• CPA, CFA, or MBA
• Experience with 3PLs and international logistics
