Manager of M&A and Corporate Development

Summary

Mattel, a leading global toy and family entertainment company, is hiring a Manager of M&A and Corporate Development within its Strategy and Corporate Development team at its headquarters. The role supports evaluation and execution of acquisitions, divestitures, and partnerships to drive Mattel’s strategic growth initiatives.

What you'll do

  • Partner with the Chief Strategy Officer and Senior Director of Corporate Development to evaluate and execute mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic partnerships.

  • Maintain and monitor the M&A pipeline of potential acquisitions, partnerships, and strategic opportunities.

  • Lead and support deal diligence by coordinating cross-functional internal teams and external advisors.

  • Build financial models and valuations to support transaction evaluation and decision-making.

  • Develop integration and value creation plans and collaborate with acquired companies to support post-deal success.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree from a top-tier university.

  • 7+ years total professional experience (or 5+ years with an MBA), including 2+ years of post-MBA or equivalent experience in investment banking or private equity.

  • Deep end-to-end deal lifecycle experience (origination, due diligence, valuation, negotiation, closing, and post-deal integration planning/execution).

  • Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills, including DCF, trading comparables, precedent transactions, and accretion/dilution analysis.

  • Proven strategic thinking and problem-solving ability with a track record of impact.

  • Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and manage complex stakeholder groups.

  • Superior communication skills.

  • Preferred: MBA or equivalent advanced degree; consumer, tech, and/or entertainment industry experience; demonstrated growth mindset and continuous learning.
