The Social Video Editor (Part-time) supports the social media team by editing engaging short-form videos optimized for each platform. The role focuses on mobile editing tools with occasional work in Adobe Premiere Pro to deliver high-quality, trend-aware content.
What you'll do
Edit social-first video content using mobile apps (e.g., CapCut, Prequel, Edits, Canva) from original and sourced footage.
Identify key moments and build punchy, snackable narratives for social cutdowns.
Make creative decisions on framing, cutaways, zooms, sound effects, captions, and on-screen text.
Optimize edits per platform requirements and audience behavior.
Redirect heavier or premium edits to Adobe Premiere Pro when needed.
Set and maintain a video workflow from rough cut to final deliverables, including organizing/archiving footage and tracking licensed content usage.
Maintain a video production calendar in Asana and track deliverable status through publication.
Perform quality control to ensure only high-quality deliverables are published.
Monitor social trends and app developments and incorporate them into video concepts when appropriate.
Identify opportunities to reuse and repurpose editorial video content across brands/platforms.
Requirements
1+ years of experience in short-form video editing.
Proficiency with mobile video editing tools (CapCut, Prequel, Edits, Canva, or similar).
Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro.
Basic understanding of color correction, audio mixing, motion design, and multi-cam editing.
Strong social/editorial judgment and understanding of what makes vertical video perform on social platforms.
Ability to work quickly, adapt workflow based on priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
Collaborative mindset and comfort working cross-functionally.
Experience at a digital media organization (plus).
Previous social media experience (plus).
Must be able to work 20 hours per week.
Portfolio link or examples of prior social video work required in application.
Conditions
Part-time: 20 hours per week.
Schedule: 3–4 set shifts per week.
Remote role; must be located within the United States.
Pay range: $26–$29 per hour.
Must be eligible to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship available.
