Crude Trader
Summary
ExxonMobil Global Trading is seeking a Crude Trader to support and optimize the company’s physical crude portfolio. The role focuses on developing trading and hedging strategies to manage portfolio flexibility, increase asset/position value, and serve as a key market interface. You will partner with operations and analytics teams to evaluate risk and improve trading tools and analysis.
What you'll do
- Develop commercial strategies for optimal crude sales and purchases.
- Optimize a portfolio of structured products by implementing trading strategies and utilizing VaR.
- Proactively drive business development by identifying and evaluating market tenders to capture new business.
- Support entry into new markets using knowledge of illiquid markets and broker contacts.
- Ensure trading activity complies with internal risk governance policies and is accurately recorded in trade reporting systems (position reporting, trade bookings, settlement).
- Provide insights to analytics to enhance trading applications and fundamental analysis.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree.
Crude trading experience with a clear focus on physical trading; additional knowledge/experience in derivatives.
Experience in new market entry and origination.
Demonstrated experience with Canadian pipeline ORBs/OBAs and/or Louisiana Sour crude.
Ability to establish broker/asset contacts to generate new business opportunities.
Track record of positive P&L and deep understanding of risk management.
Strong commercial acumen, entrepreneurial mindset, analytical/IT skills, and accountability for results.
Personal effectiveness and leadership skills; ability to facilitate and influence decisions in a multi-cultural team environment.
