Backend Developer

ThirstySprout is building a noncustodial AI-native exchange for frictionless trading across any blockchain. We're seeking an experienced Backend Developer to design and implement high-performance trading systems that serve users globally.

• Build low-latency trading systems for frictionless buying and selling of any asset across any chain
• Integrate AI for workflow automation and intelligent system optimization
• Design and implement high-performance backend infrastructure in Rust
• Own architectural decisions for critical trading and exchange systems
• Collaborate with a lean team of 15 across global time zones
• Ship fast and iterate on production systems with significant user impact

• Minimum 6 years of technical experience
• At least 2 years of professional Rust experience
• Product-focused mindset with ability to build cool products
• Proficiency in AI integration and modern development practices
• Experience with low-latency systems and high-performance backend architecture
• Very fluent English communication skills
• Output-driven work ethic with ownership mentality
• Nice to haves: Previous experience at crypto exchanges or trading platforms, open-source Rust contributions, experience scaling distributed systems, background in financial systems or blockchain

• Location: Remote (Global, CET core hours)
• Schedule: 6 days per week (negotiable for exceptional candidates)
• Culture: Flat structure, individual ownership, minimal meetings (1-on-1s and all-hands only)
