Summary
Viserion Grain Company is hiring a Weigher Grader to support safe and efficient grain elevator operations. This entry-level role focuses on operating equipment, accurately weighing and sampling inbound/outbound grain, and maintaining documentation to support quality and compliance.
What you'll do
- Operate the PLC and related equipment to run grain elevator loading, unloading, and transfer processes.
- Weigh and sample all inbound and outbound grain and grain products accurately.
- Calibrate grain testing and weighing equipment (including truck scales), perform cross-checks, and maintain proper documentation.
- Conduct toxin testing on grain; package, store, and ship samples to appropriate labs as required.
- Operate grain weighing equipment, software, and systems and record required documentation; report errors or irregularities.
- Maintain housekeeping/cleanliness of grain handling and assigned plant/office areas.
- Develop product knowledge, including understanding and handling hazardous properties of products.
- Follow all applicable safety and environmental regulations and comply with company safety programs and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education:
- High school diploma or GED (preferred).
Experience:
- 1 year of grain industry experience (preferred).
Skills:
- Basic written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a safety-conscious, quality-controlled environment.
Physical requirements:
- Regular walking, bending, and stooping.
- Work on catwalks at heights up to 200 feet with appropriate safety equipment.
- Climb stairs and ladders.
- Lift up to 75 pounds.
- Enter and work in confined spaces.
