People Operations Support
Summary
Wonder (Grubhub) is building a multi-restaurant food platform with brick-and-mortar locations and delivery across the East Coast. The Jr Associate, People Support role sits within HR Shared Services as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, ensuring compliant and efficient HR operations. The role focuses on delivering excellent employee support while processing core HR transactions and improving the employee experience.
What you'll do
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee HR inquiries, providing empathetic, consistent multi-channel support.
- Drive first-call resolution and proactively troubleshoot issues to improve employee satisfaction.
- Guide employees and managers through HR processes and self-service tools (including Workday).
- Process HR transactions accurately and on time, including onboarding/new hire processing, job changes/transfers, compensation updates, benefits enrollment support, and employee data maintenance.
- Document and track inquiries in a case management system and maintain up-to-date knowledge of policies and procedures.
- Partner with People Business Partners and Centers of Excellence on complex cases; escalate issues when needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and support HR compliance requirements and process standardization.
- Create strong first impressions for new hires and embody company values in every interaction.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in a customer-facing role.
- 1-2 years of customer service experience (restaurant or retail preferred).
- Basic computer skills including email and calendar management.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel basics) or Google Suite.
- Ability to learn new technology systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organization habits and ability to manage sensitive information confidentially.
- Friendly, positive attitude and genuine desire to help others.
Preferred: experience with case management systems; knowledge of HR compliance requirements and best practices; strong time management, adaptability, and independent problem-solving.
- Bachelor’s degree is a plus but not required.
Conditions
Hourly role.
Compensation (NY): $24.75-$29.10 per hour (varies by geography and candidate factors).
