REMOTE - HR Representative
Summary
Ross Stores, Inc. is a Fortune 500 off-price retail company with over 2,200 stores, supported by corporate and distribution operations nationwide. The HR Representative provides administrative and customer-focused support for associates managing Leave of Absence (LOA) requests to ensure compliant, accurate processing and a strong associate experience.
What you'll do
- Process LOA transactions using ServiceNow, PeopleSoft, Sedgwick ViaOne, case management systems, and Excel (upload/enter approvals, denials, benefit elections, adjustments, and corrections).
- Manage the LOA inbox and 800# voicemail; respond to associate inquiries by phone and email with professionalism and high customer service.
- Create and manage cases, generate letters, and produce reports (including benefit payment/exhaust communications).
- Communicate with associates across Stores, Corporate, Buying Offices, and Distribution Centers regarding LOA status, policies, and next steps.
- Partner with vendors and internal teams (Payroll, Benefits, HR Services, etc.) to resolve issues and ensure smooth administration.
- Collect and document critical case data/notes and assist with compliance efforts and legal holds as needed.
- Provide reporting to monitor team workload and departmental performance.
- Cross-train and provide backup support to other LOA team members; assist with training/process improvement efforts.
- Stay current on company, state, and federal LOA guidelines and complete required training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree.
Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to build positive relationships with internal and external partners.
Preferred: LOA administration experience and knowledge of federal/state leave laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, CA CFRA, pregnancy, military).
Ability to work independently or collaboratively; exercise sound judgment on complex and sensitive issues.
Detail-oriented with high accuracy; able to learn quickly and ask questions.
Proficiency with online systems/databases; working knowledge of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills; PeopleSoft proficiency preferred.
Familiarity with HR systems and Benefits/Payroll practices.
Ability to work primarily on a computer in an office/remote environment; consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Conditions
Remote role; may be performed anywhere in the United States except Colorado and New York City.
Pay range listed: $22.69–$32.79 per hour (total compensation may include additional rewards depending on position and location).
Work involves computer-based tasks, phone/email communication, and participation in in-person or remote meetings.
