Summary
A confidential mid-sized industrial manufacturer is seeking a Director of Operations & Supply Chain to lead end-to-end manufacturing and supply chain activities across the Americas region. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution to improve cost, service, quality, delivery, and safety outcomes. A primary objective is to standardize and strengthen MRP processes and governance to improve planning accuracy, inventory management, and service levels.
What you'll do
- Provide oversight for regional manufacturing and supply chain performance and own KPIs for cost, service, quality, delivery, and safety.
- Lead optimization and governance of MRP systems; establish standardized planning policies to improve inventory management and data integrity.
- Embed Lean and Six Sigma culture; identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve throughput.
- Design and optimize the regional manufacturing footprint, including make-versus-buy analysis and capacity planning.
- Manage relationships with third-party contract manufacturing partners to ensure adherence to quality and delivery standards.
- Manage procurement, S&OP, and regional logistics; optimize working capital and mitigate supply chain risk.
- Build and develop a high-performing operations organization and foster ownership and accountability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or Business (MBA preferred).
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing and supply chain.
- Demonstrated success leading MRP/ERP optimization efforts.
- Proven experience managing multi-site operations and contract manufacturing networks.
- Strong background in Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement frameworks.
- Hands-on leadership style with willingness to engage directly in problem-solving and execution.
- Preferred: experience in a global manufacturing environment.
- Preferred: industrial footprint optimization experience (expansions, consolidations, closures).
- Preferred: advanced S&OP and integrated business planning processes.
