Summary

Cossack Labs is seeking a Cryptography R&D engineer with Rust experience to join their team and innovate in applied cryptography. The role focuses on analyzing modern cryptographic structures, implementing secure algorithms, and contributing to research in cryptographic protocols for distributed computing.

What you'll do

  • Work as part of cryptographic research and development team
  • Analyze modern applied cryptography structures and algorithms
  • Participate in security analysis of cryptographic implementations
  • Perform code review of cryptographic code
  • Design, write, test, implement, debug code for mathematical and cryptographic constructions
  • Write code, tests, and specifications
  • Read cryptographic papers and participate in technical discussions
  • Collaborate on architecture and design decisions

Requirements

  • Experience with Rust or strong experience with C++, Scala, or Haskell with readiness to learn Rust
  • Good understanding of cryptography basics: hash functions, digital signatures, symmetric encryption, asymmetric encryption, ECC, Diffie-Hellman
  • Strong understanding of mathematics and computer science
  • Nice to have: Applied cryptography knowledge, formal education in cryptography, understanding of programming languages (C, Go, Scala)
  • Nice to have: Information security knowledge, zero trust architecture, blockchain understanding, zero knowledge proof protocols, HPKE, key wrapping, encrypted data search
