Staff Data Engineer

MoonPay is a unified payments platform for digital currency trusted by over 30 million customers. This Staff Data Engineer role focuses on evolving and scaling the data platform that powers analytics, product insights, integrations, and data science in a regulated environment.

Main responsibilities include:

• Design and evolve the data platform architecture to support analytics, product insights, integrations, and data science
• Solve complex systems problems end-to-end, from architecture design to code implementation
• Make pragmatic design trade-offs to ensure systems are reliable, secure, and built to last
• Contribute hands-on to codebase and technical improvements
• Lead through strong engineering judgment and collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Help teams make better long-term technical decisions

Required qualifications:

• Strong systems engineering and architecture design experience
• Proven ability to solve complex technical problems end-to-end
• Experience building scalable data platforms and infrastructure
• Strong programming skills with hands-on contribution capability
• Experience working in regulated environments preferred
• Deep understanding of analytics, data pipelines, and distributed systems
