Human Resources Generalist

Summary

ExamWorks is a healthcare services provider delivering independent medical examinations and related solutions for insurers, law firms, administrators, and government agencies. The Human Resources Generalist role supports end-to-end HR operations across the employee lifecycle in a fully remote environment, ensuring accurate processes and compliance. The position serves as a key contact for employees and managers on onboarding, payroll, HRIS, and routine HR inquiries.

What you'll do

  • Manage end-to-end onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure smooth employee transitions.
  • Coordinate with IT and HRIS teams to set up access and ensure accurate employee records for hires and separations.
  • Generate, reconcile, and document payroll reports; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Act as first point of contact for routine employee questions regarding payroll, benefits, and leaves.
  • Track and support employee leave processes (including FMLA and ADA), ensuring documentation and follow-up.
  • Prepare compliance-related reporting for audits, client questionnaires, and RFPs.
  • Enter and process employee data changes in HRIS with a focus on data integrity.
  • Support HR Business Partners with employee relations matters, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Oversee hiring requisition workflows, confirm approvals, and verify compensation alignment with company standards.
  • Coordinate performance management activities, timelines, and leader communications.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives such as recognition and team-building programs.
  • Monitor completion of mandatory annual training and compliance requirements.
  • Perform additional HR duties as assigned to support department and organizational goals.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in HR coordination, HR operations, or related roles.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (Paycom preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships across organizational levels.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality of sensitive data.
  • Knowledge of HR practices, payroll processes, and compliance standards.
  • Teamwork, problem-solving ability, and resilience under pressure.
  • Ability to follow company policies and adapt to changing procedures.
