People Business Partner (100% Remote)

Summary

ClearCaptions is an FCC-certified telephone captioning provider focused on improving the lives of seniors and hard-of-hearing individuals through near real-time phone captioning technology. The People Business Partner serves as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, supporting execution of the People strategy and strengthening leadership capability across designated business units. This remote role partners with leaders and People Centers of Excellence to deliver scalable HR programs, employee relations support, and a positive employee experience.

What you'll do

  • Partner with people leaders to execute people strategy aligned to team and business unit objectives, supporting a high-performing and engaged workforce.
  • Provide employee relations guidance including performance coaching, investigations, and conflict resolution; manage ER cases end-to-end and escalate critical issues as needed.
  • Investigate and resolve complex/critical ER issues; conduct objective, thorough, timely investigations and document findings and recommendations.
  • Facilitate core people programs such as goal setting, performance evaluations, engagement initiatives, and employee recognition.
  • Coach leaders on developing employee strengths, improving team effectiveness, and fostering engagement.
  • Collaborate with People Centers of Excellence (Compensation, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development) to deliver consistent HR solutions.
  • Interpret and apply policies, labor laws, and employment practices to ensure compliance and fairness.
  • Track, report, and analyze people metrics; support ad hoc reporting and workforce analysis.
  • Participate in or lead smaller-scale HR projects/pilots and support broader change initiatives.
  • Embed diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in processes and interactions.
  • Manage exit interview process, analyze turnover trends, and recommend retention and engagement improvements.
  • Stay current on HR best practices, employment law updates, and internal policies; contribute to process improvements.
  • Provide training, counsel, and guidance on performance standards and quality evaluations that drive performance and career growth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business or People team priorities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; BS/BA degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in a People Business Partner (HRBP) role.
  • Experience supporting remote workforces in a multi-state environment (required).
  • Preferred experience supporting contact/service center employee populations and/or warehouse facilities.
  • Experience building and leading HR programs, projects, and teams.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems (Dayforce a plus) and Microsoft Office; strong Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or other HR certification preferred.
  • Experience across employee relations, performance management, talent development, and compensation practices.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.
  • Demonstrated coaching and ER facilitation skills; ability to resolve day-to-day workplace issues.
  • Strong strategic, critical thinking, and analytical skills to identify trends and drive solutions.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication, presentation, and facilitation skills; ability to build rapport with leaders and employees.
  • Highly organized self-starter with strong time management and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented working style.
  • Willingness to travel overnight occasionally (up to 10%) and work flexible hours as needed.

Conditions

  • Compensation: Salary range $90,000–$100,000 annually (final based on qualifications, experience, and business needs).
