Summary
CrunchCode is a staff augmentation and outsourcing company seeking a DevOps / Platform Engineer for a fully remote, long-term position. The role involves architecting, implementing, and operating resilient infrastructure and delivery pipelines for business-critical logistics systems in the e-commerce and fintech sectors.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and platform specialists to architect, implement, and operate resilient infrastructure and delivery pipelines
- Administer and continuously refine services to improve reliability, scalability, security, and overall performance across development, staging, and production environments
- Design and evolve automation solutions for infrastructure provisioning, release management, and operational processes
- Investigate incidents, conduct in-depth root cause analysis, and support internal teams in resolving complex technical challenges
- Strengthen monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks to maintain high availability and accelerate incident detection and recovery
- Participate in the development of new infrastructure components and platform features that enhance system capabilities
- Proactively identify manual or repetitive operational tasks and implement long-term automation strategies to streamline workflows
Requirements
- Advanced experience administering Linux-based systems, including strong command-line proficiency and shell scripting (Bash)
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, Drone, or comparable tooling
- Practical knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language (Python, Go, PHP, Ruby, or JavaScript)
- Experience working with distributed messaging systems like RabbitMQ or Kafka
- Familiarity with managing and operating backend production workloads (PHP, Node.js, or similar server-side technologies)
- Solid experience with public cloud providers such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure
- Experience administering relational and/or NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Couchbase)
- Understanding of core web infrastructure components including Nginx, PHP-FPM, Varnish, and HAProxy
- Practical exposure to monitoring and observability ecosystems such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK stack, StatsD, or New Relic
- Strong grasp of version control workflows, automation best practices, high availability design, load balancing strategies, and caching mechanisms
- Experience working with container technologies and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Exposure to Infrastructure as Code approaches, particularly with Terraform or HashiCorp ecosystem tools
- Proven experience designing scalable cloud-native architectures or contributing to platform engineering initiatives
- Background in enhancing system resilience, performance optimization, and cloud cost efficiency improvements
