Summary

Lucas Museum of Narrative Art (opening September 2026) is building a new brand system and visitor-facing experiences for its museum in Exposition Park. The Designer role sits on the Design department and supports brand strategy and visual identity across marketing, communications, exhibitions, programs, retail, development, and membership. The position focuses on digital-first campaigns with strong motion fluency to bring story-driven design to life across platforms and touchpoints.

What you'll do

  • Conceptualize, develop, and produce story-driven design solutions across digital campaigns, marketing initiatives, motion, and select print applications.
  • Generate multiple creative directions, present clear rationale, and iterate efficiently based on feedback from the Director of Design and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Create mockups, pitch materials, and presentation decks that communicate design intent and strategic alignment.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all touchpoints while contributing to the evolution and scalability of the museum’s visual identity system.
  • Execute design for exhibition campaigns and seasonal awareness initiatives across digital and physical environments (digital ads, social campaigns, email marketing, OOH, integrated marketing materials).
  • Design digital-first fundraising and membership materials with the Development team, focused on clarity, engagement, and conversion.
  • Partner with Marketing to create digital assets for lucasmuseum.org features, email newsletters, social content, and motion-forward storytelling.
  • Support initiatives such as influencer collaborations, experiential activations, and VR/AR touchpoints.
  • Handle project administration including timelines, vendor coordination, asset organization, and internal communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in an agency, brand, or cultural organization environment.
  • Exceptional visual design skills with strong contemporary typography and layout and a refined visual sensibility.
  • Demonstrated experience in digital-first campaign design.
  • Proficiency in UX/UI and interaction design principles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Strong working knowledge of After Effects for motion graphics (titles, typography, social, campaign extensions).
  • Comfortable working across digital, motion, print, packaging, and experiential touchpoints.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, growth-stage environment.
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS is a plus.
  • Highly adaptable, proactive, collaborative, and able to navigate evolving priorities with composure.
