REMOTE - HR Representative
Summary
Ross Stores, Inc. is a Fortune 500 off-price retail chain with over 2,200 stores, supported by corporate, buying, and distribution operations across the U.S. The HR Representative supports associates during Leave of Absence (LOA) by administering leave transactions, responding to inquiries, and ensuring compliance with laws and company policies. The role focuses on delivering accurate processing and a high level of customer service through phone, email, and HR systems.
What you'll do
- Process LOA transactions in systems such as ServiceNow, PeopleSoft, Sedgwick ViaOne, and internal case management tools, including uploads, data entry, adjustments, and corrections.
- Respond to associate and stakeholder inquiries via email, phone, LOA inbox, and voicemail; provide timely customer service and case updates.
- Generate and manage LOA cases, letters, and communications (e.g., benefit payment/exhaust communications).
- Review and process pay/benefits-related forms and coordinate with Payroll, Benefits, HR Services, vendors, and internal partners.
- Explain LOA-related policies and procedures across multiple states/locations and guide associates on where to find resources.
- Gather and document critical case data (e.g., case notes, LOA dates) to support compliance efforts and assist with legal hold responses.
- Create reporting to track and monitor departmental work and performance.
- Cross-train and provide backup support to other LOA team members; assist with training/process improvement efforts as needed.
- Maintain ongoing development by staying current on company, state, and federal LOA guidelines and required trainings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree.
Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external partners.
Preferred: Leave of Absence administration experience and familiarity with federal/state leave laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, CA CFRA, Pregnancy, Military).
Ability to work independently or collaboratively; apply sound judgment on complex and sensitive issues; willingness to learn and ask questions.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; proficiency with Excel and PeopleSoft.
Familiarity with HR systems and general Benefits and Payroll practices.
Conditions
Remote role within the United States; cannot be performed in the State of Colorado or in New York City.
Office/computer-based work with regular attendance and timeliness expectations.
Requires ability to sit/stand/walk, attend in-person and remote meetings, talk on the phone, type, and work with paper/files.
Pay range listed as $22.69–$32.79 per hour; total compensation may vary by experience, location, and other factors.
