Summary
The Colorado Rockies are hiring a Minor League Low-A Bench Coach to support the Fresno affiliate and help implement the organization’s player development philosophies. This role assists the manager and coaching staff with in-game strategy, player development plans, and team preparation rooted in baseball fundamentals and leadership.
What you'll do
- Assist affiliate staff by providing necessary resources for players on and off the field.
- Collaborate with the manager on on-field game operations and in-game strategy.
- Support and be accountable for the development of staff at the assigned affiliate.
- Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and winning.
- Demonstrate leadership in decision making, creativity, and daily actions.
- Communicate clearly with players, staff, coordinators, and the front office to align on a shared vision.
- Proactively identify and solve issues and challenges throughout the season.
- Maintain organization-wide standards, expectations, and terminology in instruction and coaching.
- Coordinate and support player plan meetings and related work.
- Oversee implementation of organizational infield defense principles.
Requirements
- Previous experience working and playing professional baseball (preferred).
- Strong motivation, work ethic, problem-solving ability, and desire to learn and grow.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Passion for the game of baseball.
- Ability to work effectively with co-workers and supervisors in a team environment.
- Working understanding of current baseball technologies, programs, and evaluative tools.
- Ability to develop and maintain successful relationships with front office staff, on-field staff, and players.
- Consistent, punctual, and regular attendance with a professional demeanor.
- Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).
