  • Manage, coach, and develop Studio Managers to improve performance, engagement, and retention.
  • Build bench strength by identifying and developing internal talent for future growth roles.
  • Partner with People, Retail Training, and Piercing Education teams to ensure onboarding and performance programs land effectively.
  • Model and reinforce a culture of accountability, inclusion, and feedback aligned with Studs values.
  • Act as the field voice in HQ-level planning with market-grounded operational insights.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Retail Ops on labor planning, headcount alignment, and P&L management.
  • Support new studio openings with pre-open leadership, talent readiness, and post-open stabilization.
  • Lead regional business reviews, talent calibration, and communication cascades across a distributed team.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of multi-unit retail leadership experience (ideally service-driven/experiential such as beauty, hospitality, or specialty retail).
  • Proven success managing P&L, labor percentage, and revenue growth across geographically dispersed markets.
  • Strong track record in leadership development, coaching, and building high-performing teams in remote or distributed environments.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to influence and collaborate across functions and levels without in-person proximity to HQ.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to the Mid-Atlantic or Southeast region.
  • Ability to travel frequently regionally (air travel expected) and occasionally nationally for offsites or openings.
  • Weekend and evening availability for studio visits and key events.

Conditions

  • Compensation: $125,000–$155,000 annually, plus equity.

  • Work model: Flexible work environment (3 days in studio, 2 days work from home).

  • Travel: Frequent regional travel; occasional national travel.

  • Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance including $0 in-network mental health visits; commuter benefits; 401(k); HSA or FSA; gender affirmation support services; EAP and work/life resources.

  • Time off: 4 weeks accrued PTO; 7 days accrued sick time; 11 paid holidays; 4 quarterly wellness days.

  • Leave: Three months paid parental leave (biological, adoptive, and foster parents eligible).

  • Additional perks: Paid sabbatical after four years of full-time service; discounts on piercings and products (including friends and family); access to PerkSpot and optional benefits such as pet insurance, discounted tickets, personal finance coaching, healthy rewards, and extended life insurance.
