Photography Coordinator & Archivist
Summary
The Kansas City Chiefs are seeking a Photography Coordinator & Archivist within the Production department reporting to the Director of Photography. This role captures and edits photography content while organizing, tagging, and maintaining the club’s digital photo archive to support creative, digital, media, and marketing needs.
What you'll do
Capture, edit, and store images from practices, gamedays, community events, and other activities; compile selects, input metadata, and publish to a website CMS.
Print in-house or coordinate ordering/selling/organizing images for internal departments.
Help structure, manage, and maintain the Kansas City Chiefs photography archive.
Apply metadata to new photos from staff and freelancers; archive and distribute assets via the digital photo library.
Use Wrike to schedule and manage photo assignments/projects; help implement new photographic procedures and technologies.
Analyze existing content and collaborate with the Digital team to develop ideas to grow and influence digital audiences.
Collaborate with the Football Team, Chiefs Cheerleaders, in-house production, and Media/Marketing to fulfill photo requests for social, articles, thumbnails, behind-the-scenes, and more.
Support special projects including digital asset management in the Content Management System.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
3+ years of photographic team experience (post-graduate preferred).
Advanced proficiency in photo archiving and metadata workflows using Photo Mechanic and Adobe Bridge CC; Caption Pro experience; Photo Shelter Libris is a plus.
Photo editing/retouching skills in Adobe Photoshop CC.
Strong interpersonal skills with internal and external clients; professional attitude and appearance.
Highly organized, able to multi-task, flexible, and comfortable managing multiple time-sensitive projects in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of football (positions, plays, players).
Ability to meet physical demands including prolonged sitting/standing, working in all weather, and occasional lifting/carrying of 40+ lbs.
Conditions
Salaried, exempt position.
Must be available to work extended hours including weekends and holidays.
Work involves practices and gamedays and may require working in all weather conditions.
