Crossing Hurdles is hiring a remote hourly contract Generalist Editor to support AI training work. The role focuses on creating prompts and improving AI-generated responses to meet high quality and reasoning standards.

• Create realistic base prompts across a wide range of generalist topics for AI training.
• Review, evaluate, and refine AI-generated responses for clarity, accuracy, and alignment with human reasoning.
• Develop prompt–response iterations with variations in length, tone, style, and system instructions.
• Identify failure points and inconsistencies in model outputs to support benchmarking efforts.
• Apply consistent quality standards across task types such as summaries, Q&A, and synthesis tasks.
• Collaborate asynchronously with research teams supporting supervised fine-tuning of frontier models.

• Strong professional background in research, education, writing, editing, or adjacent analytical fields.
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and concisely.
• Strong critical thinking skills and high attention to detail.
• Comfort working independently with evolving guidelines and minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with LLMs or AI-assisted writing tools (plus).
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

• Type: Hourly contract.
